Chiron was discovered in 1977 and originally classified as
an asteroid with a weird travel pattern. Further study discovered a comet-like
tail attached to Chiron, classifying him as a comet. Chiron lies in between
Saturn and Uranus, making him a literal and metaphorical transition from the
inner planets (our personal planets), to the outer planets (our universal
planets). Chiron in the chart is an indicator of our deepest wound, maybe a
certain part of your life where problems keep arising, or that you feel you
have a lack of. Chiron reveals to us our weakness with the hope we transcend
it. If we transform ourselves and heal from our wounds, we receive a certain
talent, teaching ability, or potential in that particular area. The house
placement of Chiron shows us in what aspect of our life we are wounded.
First House: Your
deepest wound is found in your sense of self and identity.
Second House: Your
deepest wound is found in your sense of self-worth.
Third House: Your
deepest wound is found in communication with others, the world, and yourself.
Fourth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your familial life.
Fifth House: Your
deepest wound is found in creative expression.
Sixth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your health and in daily routine activities.
Seventh House: Your
deepest wound is found in your close, intimate relationships.
Eighth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your relationship with death, sex, and source of
survival.
Ninth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your growth as a person.
Tenth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your career and with your reputation.
Eleventh House: Your
deepest wound is found in your friends, social groups, and hopes for the
future.
Twelfth House: Your
deepest wound is found in your subconscious; inside yourself.
Many people do not include asteroids in their interpretations of the natal chart, but for those who do, or would like to know more about them, here is a basic explanation of the asteroids.
Ceres: Defined as a dwarf planet like Pluto, Ceres was the first asteroid ever discovered. The goddess Ceres represents nurturing, family, and fertility, and is often associated with the sign Cancer. Your sign in this asteroid says how you provide love and comfort, and influences family life and hard work. On the negative side, Ceres influences grief, feelings of abandonment, low self-esteem, and family problems.
Chiron: This asteroid is located in between Saturn and Uranus, and deals with health and disease. Chiron influences us to work through and overcome our problems. Chiron gives patience and wisdom, and helps us deal with healing others and healing ourselves. Your Chiron sign represents the darkest part of yourself, and how you deal with it.
Pallas: Pallas is the second asteroid found, and she represents wisdom, independence, talents, justice, and your relationship with your father and other males. Your Pallas sign tells you where your talents are strongest and how you interact with your father and makes in general. It also says where you get your wisdom and inspiration. On the negative side, Pallas influences injustice and conflict.
Juno: Juno is the third asteroid found and she is Jupiter’s wife. She is closely associated with Venus, and represents soulmates, women’s rights, intimate relationships, and true love. Your Juno sign says what you look for in a soulmate/ person in order to have a long term relationship. On the negative side, Juno influences infidelity, spouse abuse and jealousy.
Vesta: Vesta is the fourth asteroid discovered, and is known as the virgin goddess. She deals with sexuality, self sufficiency, and your own inner self. Your Vesta sign represents your purest potential and essence. It also deals with chastity, family, and security. On the negative side, Vesta deals with denial, invalidation of self, and promiscuity or fear of sex/intimacy.
My BiL is a neurologist who has done a lot of sleep research and one of his favorite areas of study is circadian rhythms. He says that being a night owl is real, it is predicated on the genetic structure of the brain, it is not just “laziness,” and it is not a disorder. He hypothesizes that its original evolutionary purpose was basically to produce night watchmen—people who can stay awake and alert at night to protect the domicile while the early birds sleep.
So we’re not lazy, night owls; we’re the fucking late shift lookouts. Gonna grab my torch and patrol the perimeter if anyone would like to join me.
“Caged God” by Watson Mere IG: @artofmere_ . I find it interesting that in these modern times there are some who are unknowingly the descendants of Gods, Goddesses, Oracles, Seers etc. and are working as an accountant or what have you in someones office. Leaving their power untapped, dormant, or unrecognized. Remember who you are…
